Maria Johnson’s dream is for a healthcare system where diversity is valued and where a sense of altruism drives the desire to provide care. Her role as an Interpreter and Patient Navigator gives her the platform to live that dream with each patient she meets as she fights ignorance and disparity with education.
More than language barriers stand in the way of proper healthcare for everyone in the community. Maria’s dream of “cultural competency” is aimed at eliminating the fear and creating equality for all of the cultures represented here.
