My dream is to see families restored to a healthy structure. For them to be able to find within themselves the ability to rise above their current circumstance by making the decision to restructure their family relationship. I want to see a brighter future. I desire for our youth to see a better way to live comfortably without having to resort to illegal means.
My NPO Teach Us 2 Nurture teaches Parenting classes so we can reach those parents who have difficulties reaching their children. And for those parents we can not reach we have Teen Mentoring workshops, in order to introduce the children directly to a different way of life. We do not want to see our future standing in those same LONG welfare lines or locked behind those same COLD bars. I have a dream that we produce productive members of society and to impart on them the desire to have a life Vision and have goals to reach that vision. Teach Us 2 Nurture’s dream is to take our low-income families to a new level.

My dream has always been wanting to be successful. I have been blessed with so many different talents I just don,t know what direction to go in sometimes. So, my dreams would be to one day sing on broadway or to open my own bill payment center, or to open up my own day spa, or my own reading center for children who struggles in reading. These are all the things in life that I have been blessed with and I have a dream that one day I will be able to live out just one of them if not all three.
Dr. King once stated, “A nation that forgets its past is destined to repeat it.” I have always been one of those individuals who has never forgotten where I came from nor have I forgotten where my ancestors came from. I am the product of a single parent home, the offspring of a fighter and champion of my own destiny.
For years I have worked hard in pursuit of my dream (s); studying, staying up long hours and pushing myself when I had nothing left inside but my ambition to succeed. My ultimate dream in life is to become a gospel artist; this dream of mine stems from a need to spread my Christian faith to those individuals who have no hope or future. Before I can reach this dream, I want to complete my four-year degree program and then obtain my law degree.
By reaching my dreams and conquering my goals in life, I hope to inspire other young Black Americans in my community, in this nation and all over the world. I want those young people to realize that anything is possible with faith, hard work and drive; I also want them to realize that we as a people (African Americans) can make it through any obstacles to reach the zenith in life known to all as higher learning.
My Blackness:
Beaten down by the whips and lashes of life,
Has given me the strength and the courage to strive,
Strive for greatness, excellence, boldness and courage,
but most of all strive to hold my sense of pride, heritage
and my blackness.
When others have put me down and discouraged me,
I rose up and fought back like the black, bold and beautiful
African American princess that I am. Who cares about what other people may think, cause can’t nobody turn me around.
This pride, this joy, this inner strength of mine stems from Africa,
where my ancestors sweat, bleed and died.
Words, clothes and people don’t define me,
No my faith, soul and my blackness define honey,
Cause I’m black, bold and beautiful.

“I’m going to teach!” These are the words that I have proudly proclaimed for the past three years. Since I was a child, I have had the ability to teach, and I have always had the desire to help others become more successful. As a teacher, I want to put something positive into the minds and hearts of our future generations. But how do I do that? How do I ensure that I am giving my students the highest quality of education? How will I produce students who are well-informed, well-behaved, and hungry for knowledge? To me, education is the key to becoming the type of teacher that can satisfy the above inquiries. In order to be the instructor that I need and want to become, I have to be trained at an academic institute that will instill these values in me. It would be impossible to produce a high achieving, academically successful student without first being one myself. By obtaining an education from an institute of higher education, I know I will become that student.
Before I proclaimed proudly that I wanted to be a teacher, I have to explore what purpose I would fulfill by choosing that career path. Why do I have this passion to be an educator? The answer for me is simple. I know as a teacher it has brought me great joy and satisfaction knowing that I was the person who changed a child’s perspective on life. I am confident that I will have the skills and power to express something abstract, like an idea, and see it transform someone’s actions and thoughts for the remainder of their lives. I want to show students how to express themselves through words and wisdom and not through fist and fighting. I want to give them a look into the past that may open up their eyes for the future. This is what I want to do as a teacher! In a utopian society, I could manually change the world by ensuring equality and justice for everyone in academics and beyond. Unfortunately, I do not live in a perfect world and the power to control others is something I do not possess. However, I can do seemingly small things which can result in a significant change in others. I can strive to plant a good seed inside my students, which can alter their way of thinking, their actions, and ultimately change their lives.
So, where do I fall in line as a teacher? I have over five years experience working with children, and currently I am a preschool teacher at a local Early Childhood Development Center. Even with this experience, there is so much more I need to learn. Presently, I desire to become more knowledgeable about the subject at hand. While I have this passion and innate ability to work with children, I know that in order to be an effective teacher I have to increase my level of education. I need to know current information concerning how to manage my classroom efficiently; prepare effective lesson plans; and how to create a learning environment that respects the individuality of each student. I believe that early education is the most important time in a child’s academic career. Early education directly affects each child’s capacity to learn, and it sets the stage for the rest of their lives. I know my position as an early educator is vital in the development of my students. I believe that in order to be an effective educator, I need to be an effective and well educated teacher.
In our society, we need strong leadership to motivate the lives of our future generations. As a member of this society, I can lead this new generation in the right direction. I know that I can not reach every child on the planet. If, however, I can pass a small piece of knowledge to each one of my students, they can pass that wisdom on and it will have a great impact on the world. I sincerely believe that by being dedicated and becoming more educated I will obtain everything necessary to become a great teacher. By getting the proper training at the right institute of higher education, a seed will be planted inside me that will bloom and flourish affecting generations to come.
My dream is to become a teacher. Currently, I am enrolled in my first semester as a graduate student at Converse College, Spartanburg, South Carolina. I am obtaining a Masters degree in Early Childhood Education.
My Dream is to have a Facility to house Mentally Challegend People where they can be loved, have their own rooms and have a place to be treated with respect. This population need our love.
I want to publish a Christian comic book that features a black main character and a multicultural cast. I have been working on the visuals for the main character for 3 years and have just recently started to write the story. I plan to unveil the comic book next year during the summer at the Heroes Convention in Charlotte, NC.
